Lot of Jews looked down on the Samaritans for being half Jew and half Gentile. The disciples (Jews) even told Jesus to finish his food as soon as possible while eating nearby Samaritans. Jesus however did not care and encouraged the disciples to rejoice with the Gentiles. The Samaritans believed Jesus is the savior of the world.
